Proposals
will be accepted until 11:00 A.M. on March 31, 2026, at the City Office, 323
West Schlieman Ave, Appleton, Minnesota, for purchase of real estate,
equipment, and inventory owned by the City of Appleton described as follows:
Real
Property located at 240 W Snelling Ave and legally described as follows:
Lots
Sixteen (16), Seventeen (17), and the East 2.94 Feet of Lot Eighteen (18),
Block Fourteen (14), Robinson’s Second Addition to the City of Appleton,
Minnesota; Also described as follows: Lot Sixteen (16), Seventeen (17) and that
part of Lot Eighteen (18) lying East of the following described line;
Commencing at the Northeast Corner of said Lot 18; thence West along the North
line of said Lot 18, a distance of 2.94 feet to the point of beginning of the
line herein described; thence deflect to the left 89° 59 feet 27 inches, a
distance of 131.96 feet to the South line of said Lot 18 and there terminating,
all in Block Fourteen (14) of Robinson’s Second Addition, as of public record,
Swift County, Minnesota.

Fixtures; Refrigerator; Ice Machine; Liquor Register System; Security System;
House of Spirits Sign; A/C Unit; Gas Furnace; Walk In Cooler; and Computer.
Inventory:
All
inventory remaining at the time of closing. A written list of inventory will be
provided to the buyer at the time of closing.
The property will be sold subject
to the following conditions:
1.A
minimum bid of $225,000.00 is required.
2.The
off-site sign will be included in the equipment to be sold subject to the
requirement that a lease agreement be entered into with the City of Appleton at
a monthly rate of $25 to pay for the electricity to the sign.
3.A
five-year moratorium will be placed on any additional off-sale liquor permits
issued within the City of Appleton.
4.The
property is being sold AS-IS.
The property will be sold to the
party whose proposal is most advantageous to the City. The City will consider
price and the general best interest of the City.
The City will evaluate all
proposals and determine which, if any, to accept within 30 days of March 31,
2026. Upon acceptance of a proposal by the City, the parties shall enter into a
purchase agreement providing for earnest money of ten percent (10%) of the bid
with the balance payable within thirty (30) days of the date of the purchase
agreement.
