Lac qui Parle Valley School District
In 1990, Lac qui Parle Valley School district was formed with the consolidation of the 4 local school districts, including Appleton. This also included the building of a new high school. The high school is located south of Appleton approximately 8 miles.The elementary school in Appleton serves grades K-4 . The high school houses grades 5-12 and offers a broad curriculum. The school contains an indoor swimming pool, large commons area, gymnasium, and theater. It is also one of the few schools to have its very own wind turbine to help power the schools electrical needs.
